About Feverfew Oral Drop

The Feverfew plant, also known as Tanacetum, has been a valuable medicinal herb for centuries. Today, it is used for preventing and alleviating acute migraine attacks, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation, spasms, amenorrhea, and tinnitus. This extract is prepared from the flowering tops of the Tanacetum plant. The seeds of this plant were improved by the late Dr. Reza Omidbeygi, then head of research and development at Zardband Pharmaceutical Company, and registered under the name Zardband cv. Zardband. The extract from this plant contains more parthenolide than other varieties.

Mechanism of Action: The serotonin receptors play a significant role in the pathophysiology of migraines. The parthenolide in this product is a partial antagonist of serotonin receptors, preventing serotonin from binding to its receptors and exerting its anti-migraine effect.

Anti-inflammatory Effects: The sesquiterpene lactones in this product, especially parthenolide, inhibit the expression of the cyclooxygenase gene, thereby preventing the synthesis of prostaglandins and reducing inflammation.

Effect on Platelets: The sesquiterpenes in this product, especially parthenolide, neutralize sulfhydryl groups inside or outside the cell, inhibit serotonin release from platelets, and prevent platelet aggregation, helping to prevent migraines.
